What’s up guys!?
I am PSYCHED about today’s tack haul! It’s probably a little different than what you’re used to! No, you don’t have to adjust your screen. It really is a Harry Potter / 1980s TACK HAUL! Let me start by saying that I wanted to give each of my horse’s a really FRESH spring tack theme, so I started shopping saddle pads on Etsy. From there, I went on to find a few coordinating items to go with them!
HARRY POTTER TACK HAUL
The first item in this tack haul is a Harry Potter themed saddle pad from the Houndstooth Horse on Etsy. I LOVE this pad. It’s mustard yellow, and it’s really going to pop on my black horse Monk. If you’re a Harry Potter fan, you’re already familiar with the “Mischief Managed” reference, if you’re not, GO READ HARRY POTTER! What are you waiting for??
The reasons I got this pad are three-fold. First, I love it and think it’s adorable. Second, I’m a Harry Potter fan. Third, I’m hoping that it will bring me good luck. My horse Monk is always getting into “mischief,” so I’m hoping that once she sees this pad, she will know that she doesn’t have to do any mischief, because it’s already been MANAGED. If that’s a pipe dream (and it probably is), at least she will look adorbs! Love how cheeky and cute this pad is!
Coordinating Polos and Bridle
In this tack haul, I also ordered a set of Mustang polos from Jeffers in Yellow. These are a deep dark yellow, so they actually coordinate REALLY well with the pad. I didn’t want a sunshine or bright yellow. You never know if colors are going to run true to what you see on the computer, but in both of these cases they did!
I also got this GORGEOUS Horze Mette Bridle with GOLD trim and accents. The bridle was really affordable, but still a decent leather quality. They had other colors to choose from, but I liked Gold to go with my black horse. I’m very excited to see her in this whole Harry Potter-themed tack set! She’s still super fuzzy right now, so stay tuned to my youtube channel, because I plan on doing a video of her under saddle in the full setup!
1980s TACK HAUL
The 1980s tack haul is for my Morgan gelding Bamboozal. He’s an old horse and an old soul, so 1980s memorabilia is perfect for him! I got a gorgeous Rainbow Brite baby pad from the Houndstooth Horse (Etsy)! Who doesn’t love Rainbow Brite?? The pad is high quality, and the embroidery is flawless!
Coordinating Glitter Bell Boots and Splint Boots
To go along with the 80s glam Rainbow Brite theme, I got these awesome WHITE glittery bell boots and splint boots. They are Uniquely English, and I got them from Jeffers. They had other colors too, and probably these will get dirty and gross, but I don’t care. The white glitter really pops, and I can’t wait to see what Bamboozal looks like decked out in his 80s throwback glam tack when he sheds out this spring.
Although, I already had this bridle and browband, I wanted to include in the tack haul anyway, because it really completes the 80s look. Bamboozal wears a plain black bridle (no noseband), but it has a browband with a bling heart in the middle. It’s very sparkly and is going to fit with this 80s tack look perfectly!
Pics and Vids of The Harry Potter / 1980s Tack Haul to Come!
Right now, it’s spring time in Idaho. I’m not getting these gorgeous pads within 100 yards of my furry/shedding/filthy ponies! As soon as Monk and Bamboozal are COMPLETELY slicked out for the season, I’m going to make videos and take pics of each of them FULLY outfitted in their new looks from this tack haul. Monk will be decked out in Harry Potter, and Bamboozal will be rocking the 1980s tack look, so stay tuned to my website and youtube channel!
+++++It did take a while for the pads to get to my house. These are handcrafted custom items, so they don’t just ship out the same-day like products on Amazon++++
****** They were worth the wait!*****
