Hey guys!
Today, I’m reviewing the EQyss Survivor Detangler. I’m usually a die-hard Cowboy Magic fan, but the EQyss Survivor Super Detangler Shine was recently on sale, so I decided to give it a try.
My favorite thing about this product (and other EQyss products I’ve used) is the smell. It smells incredible! It’s a light blue gel, and the bottle says you can use it wet or dry.
EQyss Survivor Detangler for Thick Morgan Mane
I tried this detangler out on my Morgan horse Bamboozal, and he has a thick mane and tail with a natural wave to it. If it’s very windy out, or if I haven’t been able to brush and detangle it in a while, it’s prone to snarling. It had been at least 4-5 days or a week since I had last brushed his mane and tail. They were both a little tangled, but there were no major snarls or knots.
Let The Detangler Work Through The Hair
Whenever I use detangler, I always apply it very generously and work it through the mane and tail with my fingers. Next, I will go riding or do groundwork. I like to let the detangler sit in the hair and really work through it. I worked the detangler through Bamboozal’s mane and tail and then did a little clicker training session with them.
Gently Work Through the Hair with a Brush
When it’s time to brush the mane and tail, I always start at the bottom and brush very gently. I never want to just rip through the mane and tail. It’s very important to me to take good care of my horses’ manes and tails, and I TRULY believe that every mane and tail hair is precious. I don’t want to just rip them out. If there are any tough spots, I will usually pick through them by hand before trying to run the brush through them.
EQyss Survivor Gets an A+ For Detangling
Overall, I really like the EQyss Survivor Detangler, because it detangles without being too greasy or slippery. I’m used to Cowboy Magic, and that stuff is about as slick as it gets. This detangler gets the job done, and it doesn’t make the hair super greasy. I know some people complain that Cowboy Magic is TOO slick. If that’s a complaint you have, you should definitely try EQyss Survivor Detangler.
